Doing my social bit...

One of the perks (if I shall say) of working as an entrepreneur is that during the course of your journey, you get an opportunity to influence and help people socially.
It has been just about a couple of days since I took Vikreyta to market, and I have one of such opportunity to do my bit to the society.
Day before yesterday, I signed up one of the small merchants having a "Gifts and Novelty Items" shop. This guy is studying in Class 12th in commerce stream from an English medium school.
After talking to him, I found out that he belongs to the state of Rajasthan and a family of business-man and do not want to work as a businessman.
He told me that he has his "Board Exams" in February and needs help in Accounting and English subjects, and moreso in English, both written and in conversation.
I told him that I would help him in English at least, as being an Engineer, I am not conversed with Accounting subject.
He called me up tomorrow and I asked him to come to my office( w…

To be an Entrepreneur...

I do not choose to be a common man,
It is my right to be uncommon if I can,
I seek opportunity, not security.
I do not wish to be a kept citizen,
humbled and dulled by having the
state look after me.
I want to take the calculated risk;
To dream and to build.
To fail and to succeed.
I refuse to barter incentive for a dole;
I prefer the challenges of life
To the guaranteed existence;
The thrill of fulfillment
To the stale calm of Utopia.
I will not trade freedom for beneficence
Nor my dignity for a handout
I will never cower before any master
Nor bend to any threat.
It is my heritage to stand erect.
Proud and unafraid;
To think and act for myself,
To enjoy the benefit of my creations
And to face the world boldly and say:
This, with God’s help, I have done.
All this is what it means
To be an Entrepreneur.

RIP Steve Jobs- You will be very badly missed...

Thanks Steve Jobs for being an inspiration. You will be always missed. And I shall never forget your lesson- "Stay Hungry, stay Foolish". RIP and someday we will catch-up, up there. I know, God was getting jealous that there is no "Apple" there. But chill and dont start working again, you have done your bit here. With deepest of gratitude and utmost respect.

Of, some of the few who know this;I am one of them...

The best advice...

"One of the best pieces of advice I ever got, back when I was 23 and newly out of school, is this:
 look around and figure out who you want to be on your team.

 Figure out the people around you that you want to work with for the rest of your life.

 Figure out the people who are smart & awesome, who share your values, who get things done — and maybe most important, who you like to be with and who you want to help win.

And treat them right, always.

 Look for ways to help, to work together, to learn.

 Because in 20 years you’ll all be in amazing places doing amazing things.”-  John Lilly

The Rejig...

I did a major rejig with this blog today and a lot of changes. So far I have been juggling with the themes only, but this is bigger than that...

1. Now the domain name of the blog is a custom domain-     It has been more than 9 months since I bought this domain I guess, but it was lying useless. It        aptly describes what inside this blog. Garbage. Hence,
2. The blog of the name has been also changed to Kachra [Garbage].
3. The theme is now a much simpler one with just white space as the back-ground with just a header.

It's more of a kind of Google re-design. In line with the philosophy of having maximum white space, which is neat and cool.

I chose this maple leaves design header, as a tribute to my long romance with maple leaves, since last 11 years.

It started with the then Yahoo Messenger, when there was this maple leaves theme in the personal chat window. Cute little maple leaves used to fall against a pale yellow background, giving a cool background kind of …
