To be the next USD 50 Billion company, all you have to do is to build a new Pub...

A few years back, I was one of the regular morning commuters on the Mumbai lifeline, which is the local train.
So after waking up my life revolved around how to get into the 8.45 AM and in a later job 9.28AM Local from Platform 1 at Borivali.

In those days I used to start my work everyday by going to my distributor's office, which sort of demi-served as my office also, as thats where most of my work used to get done.

I used to travel extremely light that time, just with a Matrix notebook(Paper notebook haan), a Nokia Cell-phone and its charger.
After a few years, my job profile changed and I was no more a regular morning commuter, I started taking the Local depending on my journey schedule and after about an year or so, it completely stopped when I started carrying Laptop and virtually a mini-office in my laptop bag.

All those months, when I travelled on the Local reminds me of Facebook.

Every single day, while waiting for the 8.45 AM/9.28AM on the platform I used to meet a set of persons which included friends, co-workers and sometime complete stranger. It was a great place to just catch-up with whatever happening in our lives, their lives and my lives. The information shared depended on our interest and what we wanted to share, just like here at Facebook.

And mostly we used to meet almost every working day unless either of us was on leave, the same happens here at Facebook also. Sunday on a Facebook is a dead place almost, and there are statistics to prove that.

There were quite a few charming faces also everyday on Platform 1, which you used to see everyday and wished you knew them, or in Facebook lingo, if they were there on your Friends List :), again quite similar to Facebook.

Platform 1 became a destination to meet people and share with them what we wanted to share, it was just like another destination where you meet people...Just like Facebook...

Facebook is more of a hang-out place, as you spend much more time over there, compared to what I spent on Platform 1 of Borivali as I had to finish off my conversation mostly once I embarked on the train...

So what all you need to do is that you build a better destination for people to hang-out and throw-in some incentive to be there and people will migrate to your hang-out place and will forget Facebook.

To be simpler, what happens when you visit a new Pub which has great ambience, cool cocktails and may be even reasonably priced. You start hanging around there, tell your friends also, and later on you come over and start hanging at the same place with your friends, instead of an earlier ones. Your friends do the same thing with their other set of friends and suddenly the NEW Pub is the favourite hang-out.

Thats all you need to do in order to become the next USD 50 Billion company, make a better new Pub...

Essentially, another hang-out destination with some cool incentives to hang-around, the incentives could be indirectly tangible or directly intangible.

Is there any incentive to hang-around on Facebook, apart from the information??? No !!!

So, thats how you become a multi-billionaire, simple aint it...

So lets start working on it...
