Of the Nicknames: "Gulaabo" ka Bhai ya Bhai ki "Gulaabo"???

Since my first school days, I have been teased because of my nick-name, and my nick-name is "Mickey". So you need not wonder, by what name I would be teased....

Yes...It is "Mickey Mouse...."

Tot tell the truth, initially it was very difficult to take it in the stride as no one would be liked to addressed as a mouse but as gradually my parents allowed me to watch the Sunday morning 9am show of "Mickey and Donald" on "Doordarshan", the anger melt away as I finally found that Mickey was quite an intelligent guy and very difficult to beat and after that I almost liked being addressed as "Mickey Mouse".

Yesterday, I was interacting with somebody who had such a contrasting nick-name; while some called her "Gulaabo", the others called her "Bhai" because of her tom-boyish nature...

Now thats really interesting...

I do not think that anybody else would be having such contrasting nick-names...

And if they have, they re free to wri…

And the name is : Jessica....

It seems Josh has finally decided the name of her baby.

Yesterday while we were discussing and I broached the topic; he immediately replied "Jessica".

And its indeed a nice name...

With the intelligence of "Mickey Mouse", I made a co-relation of the name....

J(Joshua)+C(Celine) Ka....= Jessica

Isnt it nice????

I love the name.....

Yesssssss!!!!

I had been holding my breath since today morning or rather since the last monday.

The fight to this month was going to be an extremely tough and close one and in the end, it was...

I was as eager as a 5 year old boy to be in the 90s figure for the Bombay business unit as this would be consecutively second month that we would be able to do so and when the margin left was a wafer thin......Since today morning, I have been keeping my fingers crossed...

AND BINGO..........I HAVE MADE IT......ANOTHER HISTORY CREATED.......

Though this was not my personal goal, which was more lofty but as Ghalib has said, "Dil ke khush rakhne ko Ghalib ye khayal achcha hai"

I am happy :-)

Next month, in the 100s definitely for sure...

YE DIL MAANGEY MORE.....ALWAYS!!!

What a way to wake up.....

Being a sunday I am used to waking up quite late like many people and I donot feel guilty about it as this is the day which gives you an opportunity to catch up with your lost sleep.

By all standards of mine, waking up at 0830hrs on a sunday is very early but thats the time today that I woke up, and I woke up to a very preety song playing on the radio (Apparently the radio was playing the whole night) and the song was "Pehla Nasha" from the movie JJWS.

I have earlier also written about my fascinaton for this song but todat it again confirms that I have some kind of internal bonding with this song, I woke up the moment this song started.

Is not it amazing? Some 6th sense kind of thing?

But boy, what a way to wake up, with the most fav song of yours playing in the background, the moment you are opening your eyes.......

Trust me,it feels like heaven.....

Sometimes you are ahead;sometimes you are behind. The race is long and in the end,its only with yourself....

The above lines had been spoken by Kurt Vonnegutz at the commencement address of class of 1997 at MIT, Massachuesetts, Boston .

I have earlier posted the full speech at my blog, 4 years back and I still remember the full speech(almost), thanks to the fact that it has been translated into a song also (Trust me on the Sunscreen).

The reason for me writing on the above lines is that since the moment I read them, It has been one of the guiding lights for me, acting like a beacon of a lighthouse.

It has been two promotions for me in the last 9 months, and the latest one to happen was about 1 month back and a week back again the profile was increased.

In the present circumstance, you would have believed that I would be over the moon on my achievements, but then I am not as I am racing against myself and I dont think that this is the crest.

My business unit grew by 400% in the last 9 months, and it was no magic; a lot of pain, planning and hard-work and the spirit to be ahead; to be ahead of mysel…

All wired up....

I am not a networking engineer but everytime I open my laptop bag, it gives a faint resemblance of that of a networking engineer.

Everytime when I have to get a USB cable, it takes me at least 5 mins to entangle it with so many other different cables lying in the same compartment.

And here goes the count.....Two USB cables for my 2 smart-phones, 1 USB cable for my Mobile power-pack, One charger for my Blackberry Smart-phone, One charger for my Moto's portable charger, Laptop's charger cord and finally 1 USB cord of my Panasonic Camera (Incidentally somehow I carry the camera always, may be too lazy to just remove it from the bag).

Things get much ugly if by any chance I place the 2 headphones of the phones which I carry in the same compartment too(Though I have learnt my lessons in hard manner and detest from doing so now-a-days), I have fumbled with all of them together for more than 15 mins sometimes.

Next time I need to invent a carrying bag with separate pouch sections for so …

And I held Josh's baby for the first time

The wait was of a long 10 days but wheb I finally took her into my arms, those were one of the most beautiful moments of my life.

Guess when she grows up, she is gonna be a very active kid as she was constantly moving in my arms.

I would have loved to hold her for some more time but then she started crying as she does not recognise me, and there she went into her Nani's arms.....

An absolute adorable darling she is and so far absolutely looking like Josh but then its too early to say that.

So saturday are going to have an added attraction to visit "Badi Haveli" and now would look forward for every single such opportunity.

God bless her always!

winking at us on successfully completing the mission to befool us on her arrival in this world.

And she stepped into our world as quite as a whisper...

In my entire life, I have been never so anxious for that particular piece of sound as today morning.

I have never glued my ears to a door, inspite of knowing that I might not be able to hear anything eventually but still, I did that.

And she trumped all of us, by arriving in our world as quite as a whisper...

It was the end of the nervous toe-nail biting process for almost a hour and what a beautiful end.

I can never ever forget her face, the first time I saw her...

She was so cool and calm, coming in this new world. Smiling at all of us, in a kind of naughty expression, that see here I beat all of you.

The princess of our dreams and she decided not to let us know us even for a fringe of a second, when she arrived...

And there she was, smiling gingerly on completing her mission to befool all of us..

Boy-o-boy......

Well, Josh and Celine must have started the name hunt, but for me she would be always Cinderella...

Larry Page's University of Michigan Commencement Address

Class of 2009! First I'd like you to get up, wave and cheer your supportive family and friends! Show your love!

It is a great honor for me to be here today.

Now wait a second. I know: that's such a cliché. You're thinking: every graduation speaker says that -- It's a great honor. But, in my case, it really is so deeply true -- being here is more special and more personal for me than most of you know. I'd like to tell you why.

A long time ago, in the cold September of 1962, there was a Steven's co-op at this very university. That co-op had a kitchen with a ceiling that had been cleaned by student volunteers every decade or so. Picture a college girl named Gloria, climbing up high on a ladder, struggling to clean that filthy ceiling. Standing on the floor, a young boarder named Carl was admiring the view. And that's how they met. They were my parents, so I suppose you could say I'm a direct result of that kitchen chemistry experiment, right here at Michigan.…

I Rise !!!

You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
Weakened by my soulful cries.

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black oc…
