And this time the fighting has been very tough in Operation Varsity

Now I am fighting the battle of "Operation Varsity" in the game of "The Medal of Honour".Operation Neptune was much easier compared to this and apart from the promotion I have been awarded a Bronze Medal too in that campaign.I have been killed every time since the moment I have destroyed the first AA gun and started the pursuit of other two. Apparently there has been mines placed around by the germans which has been defeating me every time.Somehow not being able to find a way out and the firing has been also incessant from the bunkers.Somehow need to find a way out from there and would not give up till the moment I achieve the objective, today. Thanks and Rgds

My Blog is now 400 blogs old. . .

It took more than 3 years to accomplish this feat and I bet that this could have come sooner but then sometimes you become so lethargic that you can't put your own thoughts onto paper.Sometimes you don't want to write as your thoughts are too personal to put it onto public domain, but certainly there has never been a shortage of thoughts ever....Some bitter and some sweet memories are already part of my blog and I intend to write as much as possible but yes this blog won't become an open book of my life as some amount of mystery should always be there.Without that there aint any fun, isn't it?

Back in the books of Google

A few days back I altered a bit the URL of my blog and then I dropped out of the Google because of the obvious reason. The fallout was that the numbers of visitors to my site dropped drastically, so I again re-submitted my site on Google and yesterday found out that was again in the good books of Google. Finally again the numbers shall go up.

Can't believe that I did it in one shot today

Its been almost one and half month since I bought myself a pair of contact lenses, but have worn them not even more than five days or so. The reason is the cumbersome process involved while putting them on.Most of the times it used to take me more than 15 to 20 mins, so while moving out today I gave myself an allowance of 20 mins to wear them.Left eye it took me about three attempts, more difficult have been the right eye.But viola today, I wore the lens in the very first attempt, at first I could not believe my eyes, literally!I wanted to rub my eyes in disbelief, but since its not advised so I detested that. And I gave myself a high-five in celebration in recognition of my achievement. But still am not sure whether I would be able to pull up my feat on a regular basis. . . Thanks and Rgds

The best joke I have read since a long long time .Sent by one of my Engg College senior, Shubhojit Sir.
The Doctor said, "Joe, the good news is I can cure
your headaches. The bad news is that it will require
castration. You have a very rare condition, which causes
your testicles to press on your spine and the pressure
creates one heck of a headache. The only way to relieve the
pressure is to remove the testicles."

Joe was shocked and depressed. He wondered if he had
anything to live for He had no choice but to go under the

When he left the hospital, he was without a headache for
the first time in 20 years, but he felt like he was
missing an important part of himself. As he walked down
the street, he realized that he felt like a different
person. He could make a new beginning and live a new
life. He saw a men's clothing store and thought,
"That's what I need... a new suit."

He entered the shop and told the salesman, "I'd
like a new suit" The eld…

Hot Chocolate

Hot Chocolate
This is nice....puts things into perspective doesn't it?...It would
be nice, if we all thought, about life this way....'Hot Chocolate'
A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were
talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university
professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned
to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his
guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned
with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups -
porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some
exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate. When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:
'Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving
behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want
only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and
stress. The cup that you're d…

And now I am promoted to Sergeant

Its been a very tough fight for the 82nd Airborne while holding the German HQs. Its has been the toughest fight till date and finally we managed to hold the German HQ Even under the onslaught of very heavy tank fire. And I have been rewarded for my acrions by being promoted as Sergeant.Well don't be surprised, this is a game which I am talking about called "The Medal of Honour" on my PS2 which has now become my constant companion.Somehow by playing this game I pseudo fulfill my lost ambition of being a soldier.Well, It has been a tough fight near the HQ And I have been trying to get past that level for last 3 days but due to the incesant tank fire could not hold onto. But today I blew up all the 4 tanks, somehow able to protect me ass also. And hence I was promoted to Sergeant then and there. I dint enjoy blowing the tanks as I am originally a Cavalier, being part of the Armoured Squadron during my NCC Days in the school, and since then have considered myself as a Cavalier…

Khandala Ghat during the rainy season.....

Barso re Megha.......

It has been raining since past four days and ends one of the longest dry spells after the initial rains.

Water cuts are already into place with the load shedding looming over the head. Already rest of Maharashtra is experiencing load shedding of almost ten hours daily. At least this rain has brought much needed solace to the city of Bombay.

Thankfully the news is that water levels in the dams have gone up and am sure if it rains incessantly as its been raining now, the dams will surely overflow.

Every rainy season my thoughts dwindle back to those two years of mine spent in Agriculture industry, when the rain was waited with baited breath as industry's and farmer's future depended on it and the first rains used to bring very hectic activities in ours and farmers lives.

I still remember once in Aurangabad, the rains showered late at night and by the morning their was husge que to purchase our brand of seeds and within couple of hours we exhausted four truck loads of hybrid corn see…

Phir Dekhiye......

Aankhon Mein Jis Ke Koi To Khwab Hai
Khush Tha Wahin Jo Thoda Betaab Hai
Zindagi Mein Koi Arzoo Kijiye
Phir Dekhiye ……

Hoton Pe Jis Ke Koi To Geet Hai
Woh Haare Bhi To Us Ki Hi Jeet Hai
Dil Mein Jo Geet Hai Gun Guna Lijiye
Phir Dekhiye…….

Yaadon Mein Jis Ke Kisi Ka Naam Hai
Sapno Ke Jaise Us Ki Har Sham Hai
Koi To Aaj Se Apna Dil Dijiye
Phir Dekhiye…..

Khwab Bhun Yeh Zara Geet Sun Yeh Zara
Phool Chun Yeh Zara
Phir Dekhiye….

And here comes the teacher.....

I may not be good at it but I do enjoy it, am talking about teaching. I dont remember apart from my professional world that I indulged in it. And also it can be more termed as coaching rather than teaching but it was always a pleasure and I thoroughly enjoyed that.

So this time when opportunity was there I decided to lap it up with both hands.

And here I am, enrolled as one of the volunteers with the "Teach India" movement launched by Times of India.

There are some patriotic reasons also for enrolling in this movement but putting it down here would sound very cliche, so its better that I dont mention it. Though I wrote that while enrolling for this movement.

And it wont be only about teaching, the bigger thing is the learning. Guess it will be once in a lifetime learning opportunity for me.

Eagerly waiting for that moment when I will don that hat.......

And the deadline is looming large.....

It has been ages that I am awake at this hour, but the deadline is looming large and I am hell-bent on keeping it this time. So guess next few days will be hardly any sleep.

Since its only 6 days or so for the bell to ring and for me to submit the synopsis of my business plan I should better forget what is "Sleep".

Also the project has been shelved for some time, now its time to put it up and running.

Guess only when the destiny calls that you start running......

Guess, my time has come and Destiny is calling.....

Hooked to Songs

Well, Its kind a fetish. I am always hooked to a couple of songs, which I listen day-in and day-out till I end up getting bored with them.

Yes, there are many gems which never get old with time and remain eternal fav.

So for past week or so I am hooked on to two songs which have been my constant companion-:

1. Nazrein milana, Nazrein churana from the movie Jaane tu ya Jaane na. Must have listened to a million times by now. Very catchy one.

2. Ye tumhari Meri Baatein from the movie Rock On 2008. Actually stumbled on this song and since then have been hooked to it. Even now its playing on my lappy. Very nice and soothing song.
Intend to make this song as my ring-tone.
When your cells ring every now and then, the ring-tone has to be a very soothing one....

And I am playing my song.......again :-)

The day after 11th July 2006

Well on the morning of 12th July 2006 I woke up early partly because I could not sleep and partly because since the local trains were still down so I had to take a rick to office. And since most of the people would be travelling by road so I decided to leave early by taking the margin of time in hand also, hence I left quite early.Surprisingly the roads were quite empty and I must have reached the office in record time. The look on the face of the people said it all, the apprehension was still quite evident, apprehension of whether it's over or there was more to come.Bombay is the city of dreams and dreams are not so easy to crush even if there has been multiple blasts. Almost entire Bombay must be working on 12th, only a few people were not present in my office and guess the same would be scene elsewhere too.
You can never put down the spirit of this city, come what may this city bounces back so soon that its surprising and its one of the reasons that you don't want to move awa…

Remembering 7/11

Its one of those incidents which shook Bombay that eventful day 2 years back. Somehow not exactly a thing which you want to remind yourself but then one of those things which is etched on your memory forever.Statistics are mostly depressing and you don't want to get into the gory details of how many bombs exploded that day, how many people lost their lives and how many of them were critically injured. Its enough to say for many thousand the life won't be same ever again.I still remember that evening when during a field visit at Santacruz, the words trickled down that there has been an explosion near the Khar subway in a train. In fact one of my distributor' s salesman was travelling in that train and travelled back to office on foot from the site to tell the story. We could not believe his words but by then the government hospital which was nearby had started receiving the maimed people. The whole area was wailing with sirens. When we reached there it was a gory site with pe…

Missed the 50 in June !!!

The way I had been blogging in June, I thought that I would easily cross the 50 blogs mark, I already crossed the 43 blogs mark which is the number of blogs that I published last year in June itself.

But then suddenly was gripped by some thoughts and writing took a back-seat, and I missed the 50th mark in June. Even now its almost 10 days into July that I have resumed blogging after clearing most of the clutter which occupied my mind since almost a fortnight now.

And this time I will break my all-time record of 185 blogs which I made in almost 6 months in 2005.

A lot of it might be crap, but then the 384 blogs which I have already published are also so.

But then who cares......
