Who is Major Manish Pitambare: We are Indians and we have better jobs to do than bother about him!

* Major Manish Pitambare, 3rd PARA, SPECIAL FORCES. So
what, We have Sachin, Virendra, Rahul, Sanjay Dutt,
Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shahrukh Khan....

* Major Manish Pitambare,Killed in action on a special
mission, shot-dead a dreaded territorist before
sacrificing his life.
So what? We have Sachin, Virendra and Rahul who play
so fabulously and bring country proud. We have
Abhishek and Aishwarya who act so well and entertain
us..

*Major Manish Pitambare, took a bullet in his head
while on a special mission to nab terrorists and
before dying he killed a top terrorist.
So what? Rahul, Sachin and others also go abroad on a
special mission and win the country laurels. Abhishek
and Aishwarya also go to Rio to shoot movie and they
entertain us..

Actually am devoid of words, how to express my anguish
at my callous fellow country-men and the so called
un-biased FREE PRESS and the reverred leaders of this
contry, Manmohan Singh and company...

A young man, PARA-COMMANDO,takes a bullet to his head,
on a special mission to destroy terrorist who are
hell-bent to destroy his country, and his contrymen
are least bothered about his sacrifice. They are more
interested in the perofrmance of Indian Cricket Team(
A bunch of ass-holes, who should be whipped on their
naked ass) and the impending marriage of two
star-lets(Who have only seen blank bullets whiz past
them so far, and their true skills are more fizz and
than substance).

An young man, only married for a couple of years and
having a one year old child, dont blink twice before
laying down his life for his country-men and his
country, not at all thinking what will happen to them
after his sacrifice, and here we are, more interested
in the cricket match and whether Abhishek and
Aishwarya have already celebrated their honeymoon or
not?

Shame on us....

And I still wonder, Why Manish chose to sacrifice his
life for his country and country-men?
So that they live peacefully, dont get killed in
another serial-blast or suicide attack....
But do his country-men bothered? No, they are
not....They are bothered only about trivial issues,
unless some-one of their family dies in terrorist
attack..

Then why Manish? Why you sacrificed your life? and I
believe thats the same question which his family would
be asking from Major Manish Pitambare.... And he is
not there to answer, but still all of ujs know what
his answer would have been.

Sometimes, am happy that my father dint allow me to
join Army. At least I escaped dying for a cause, which
is no matter to my countrymen???
My death would have been also again a 1x1 news item on
7th page and nobody would have bothered...

But we are of the same breed I guess, I still want to
fight a full- war and would still join Special Forces,
if somehow an opportunity comes...

We are soildiers, and we dont give a damn, if somebody
recognises us or not... Ours is to serve un-selfishly
and do the supreme sacrifice for our country.....Let
all of them bother about Cricket and Dhoom2 and the
honeymoon destination of Abnishek and Aishwarya....

Ladies and Gentlemen, If you are reading my blog,
then you are still alive because of people like Major
Manish...Lets not be so callous in respecting his
sacrifice...Any of us or our family could be the next
victim in bomb-blast, to avert which he took a bullet
to his head..

Major Manish Pitambare, 3rd PARA, Special Forces. Lets
bow our head to him and bring the human being in
ourselves...

The sacrifice that he made was invaluable. It is ironical that such news is not published in the front page, instead we find skimpily dressed model wearing a designer wear.

I am really very fascinating about army life. After reading your heart touching note on your webpage, I can say there is a need to avoid time pass news like cricket and bollywood. I would like to say that our media is also responsible for that. Why they always hight cricket, and bollywood news. Also they are promoting poloticians. They should highlight the real heros , not the cine heros. I personaaly believe that this is the real difference between reality and decorum.

Abhishek...kudos to you for your very precious and meaningful words. However i doubt that we Indians would even think about him.Truely shame on us, I come from an Army background and I can feel the pain Manish's family is going thru.I wish all the celebs mentioned in here read this blog atleast once and realise that only handful of Indians who (a bunch of idiots) are making them richer and popular whereas the true Indian still loves the Heroes of Real Life and not reel life.
Tonnes of SALUTES to teh Brave Major and Hats OFF to you...Abhishek...

Vote NOW...For the Indian of the Year Award, courtesy ndtv.com!
2. Sachin Tendulkar
8. Aishwarya Rai
11. Major Manish Pitambare
And may I now ask the network that in what way do the two of the above three given names even deserve to be me mentioned next to someone like Major Pitambare! Hero worshipping Tendulkar and Rai and their likes, is the national passtime of most Indians..... what they eat, what they wear, where they party, where are they vacationing and whom are they hanging out with takes more newspaper print than the sacrifices of our forces and that is somthing they do every second of every day of the year! I sincerely think we as a nation have lost our sensitivity chip to the glitz and shallow glamour of the lives of the rich and the famous and we should die of shame thinking that we are not even aware of it!

I do agree with the comments of Mr. Abhishek. The media believes that people of India are eager to know only about Sachin and Aiswarya. The media has erred in not highling the valour of Major Manish Pitamber. They owe a public apology to the people of India.

The art of soldiering is in dying like a soldier! Maj. Pitambare died like a true soldier and I am sure the entire patriot Indians who know about his martyrdom would be proud of him. Those who have heart which can feel and head which can think, will always respect and regard the soldiers – dead or alive. They will also be the motivators of the society and enthuse the younger generation to take them as their role model.

I really do not think high of the actors like Sanjay Dutt (can’t even call him Sanju Baba as it reflects love for him!) who are self centered, egoist and misfits of the society. I am aghast seeing Priety Zinta asking to send nominations for bravery awards but she will not, nor will the tobacco company sponsoring these wards will suo-moto do some thing to recognize the bravery of Maj. Pitambare. They will not even send their condolence to the bereaved family or sponsor the cost of education for the daughter of Maj. Pitambare even for one year – the amount spent on even one insertion of few seconds in national channels is far more then this.

Maj. Pitambare is my role model as were all other soldiers who laid their lives for Bharat Mata! They are also role model for my children. Even when I left army two decades back, such hero give life new meaning to me and my family. I am sure even one percent of our society take inspiration from the sacrifice of Maj. Pitambare, their will be no dearth of army officers and there not be any false hero like Sanjay Dutt.

Jai Hind!

Well comprehended-a bullet shot in the forehead of the media...But,dear people,I think it's now our social responsibility to lend our shoulders to their family of such "REAL LEADERS".....atleast a few of us,rather than just monetary benefits, let's make their family realize that we,as Indians are proud of them.Shall we plan something about it??

The best of sacrifices never come to fore because of the modern media bias. Its almost like the media has lost the cause of its existence. And to share the blame are the masses who'd rather gawk at the skimpily clad 18 yr old on MTV gyrating to the "thumkas" of today's remixes than watch a sincere military officer take a bullet. And what was the star news channel created for? To relay latest "meaningful" news or to highlight the celebrity controversies of "who slept with who" or "whose first wife has sued who" in a rage provoking manner?? That channel according to me should be debarred, disgraced and abolished. My salutes to Mjr Manish who must now be wondering what would it take to wake the Indians up from 50 yr long slumber, if not a bullet in his head.

i agree to every word you said......very well-written.......he was indeed a great citizen of our country but what i fail to accept is the anguish against cricketters and filmstars......they are doing their job well too and if anything we should be angry upon STUPID media for making them into gods!!!

may his soul rest in peace

not only the indian media, we indians are f**ked up... hundreds of kasmiris are killed each month and we dont do anything about it.. is it so hard for such a big nation to put an end to the acts of terrorism on the borders of kashmir.. you get 12cars following a f**kin' MLA who doesnt even need that much protection.. infact, its better if we have less of those f**k ups who eat all our taxes... evryone outside india thinks that india is a poor country.. india is not a poor country.. we pay so much in taxes.. there is enough money generated for everything including an awesome infrastructure in most of the cities in india... its just that even the smallest politicians eat up thousands of crores of rupees... not one or two... thousands, and i'm not kiddin'.. i know this... and we need to generate enough funds for our armed forces who protect us... their death rate can be greatly reduced if they were given superior armors and weapons.... but we dont do that... coz how else will our politicians pay for their children's swanky cars (I'm talkin porsches and audi TTs.. not your corollas or mondeos.. believe me) and for their perverted needs.... India has very little scope for improvement... i have had lots of problems ... i've left it at that and have left the country.... i know that a lot of you all are gonna judge me and say that i didnt try to make it better and instead i am sittin' somewhere else and just talkin' s**t... believe me i've tried... and honestly there is nothing that can be done.... the situation is just gonna go from bad to worse.... its not a big deal that the media didnt broadcast the major's death on national television or print.. it is in no way gonna make his wife feel better.. i just hope that as a start, she be given adequate compensation from the government.... which of course will never happen... by adequate i dont mean one or two lakhs.. the man has given up his life.. thats worth a lot more and by killin' a terrorist he has saved a lot for the country....

Abhishek....I truely agree with wat u said..I dont come from army background..But have great respect towards all who are associated with the armed forces..I have personally seen the family of soldiers and army officers killed in various anti-terrorist operations.

I have personally seen their family crying out hard during SMARANANJALI a yearly event which aims at compensating soldiers family and paying tribute to the soldiers who lost their life fighting for the country.Have also written letters to the soldier families.

What i think is that the real heroes(Army personnel) are not getting the right moral support from the people.
No one cares about the army, all attention of the people is focussed on earning money and more self-centered things.

Also the government should increase the facilities given to them.

HATS OFF to MAJOR Manish and people like him for making India a safe place to live.
