Thank you for flying Lufthansa!!!

Lufthansa Passengers on a Lufthansa flight heard this
announcement from the captain: "Ladies and
Gentlemen,
I am sorry to inform
you that we have lost power to all of our engines
and
will shortly crash
into the ocean" The passengers were obviously very
worried about this
situation but were somewhat comforted by the
captain's
next announcement.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, we at Lufthansa have prepared
for such an emergency and we would now like you to
rearrange your seating so that all the
non-swimmers are on the left side of the plane and
all
the swimmers are on the right side of the plane"
After this announcement all the pasengers rearranged
their seating to comply with the captain's request.
Two minutes later the
captain made a belly landing in the ocean. The
captain
once again made an annoucement:
"Ladies and Gentlemen we have crashed into the
ocean. All of the swimmers on the right side of the
plane, open your emergency exits and
quickly swim away fro…

Then and now, the difference in celebration of Republic Day ! ! !

Today, on Republic Day, as I was moving to the office(since its month-end), little kids in their school uniforms were coming back from their school with the miniature national flag, pinned to their uniforms, and it was a delight to see them….

In a flash-back , my memories travel past into the days when I was myself in the school, and the day was celebrated with pomp. Till standard eighth, I used to be a mute spectator when the seniors will march down in front of the “Princi”, but in ninth and tenth, I had the opportunity to take part in the march-past, as I was in NCC(National Cadets Corp) then.
Ready in starched and crisp uniform, it was hell lot of pride involved in saluting the national flag in uniform, at least I always used to look at the flag while saluting, rather than the “Princi”.
First of all, Flag is of utmost importance and second, I had a love-hate kind of relationship with the “Princi”, even though I was the captain of my class, and had too many encounters with him during t…

God is coming to town......

God is coming to town and this time I am not gonna miss my rendezvous with him.

And my God is, Bryan Adams!!!

Last time when he was in town, I could not attend due to bloody month-end pressures and God has obliged that this time he is coming in the beginning of the next month, so am gonna attend his show, come what may…

I still remember, I was in class ninth, when his song “Everything I do” was released from the sound track of the movie “Robinhood the Prince of thieves”. It seems as if somebody is playing the strings of your heart, when the guitar starts playing in the beginning of the song. I watched that song during the telecast of the Grammy awards and I was hooked to the song.

Ajay, got that song recorded on a tape and gave it to me, and then like my usual habit, I played it till the tape was rotten, and then would rewind again, and then would play again.

And then came, “Baby when you are gone” and “Cuts like a knife” and others, and I was absolutely crazy for God. I still have his two…

Yes, its the same me ! ! !

Well, the truth is, it’s a back-breaking schedule now-a-days.
Rush to work in the morning, spend the entire day trying to improve the numbers, get back home, and then begin the task of improving your home.

A few months back, for me it was an alien practice, trying to keep my home clean and tidy. I used to loathe to broom and sweep it even on Sundays, and now, as soon as I get back to home, however much am tired, I make up the practice to tidy up the place and then to broom it. And as far as sweeping is concerned, that’s every alternate days, again after coming back to home!!!

Suddenly, that’s a transformation in me. I could never imagine that, after returning back from work, late in the night, I will daily clean my home, but yes, that’s the way it is now-a-days…..

But yes, it always gives me pleasure seeing the place all tidy up and clean and I feel like coming back to it and spending my time there.

And believe it or not, even the utensils are not left un-attended, more than a day, so even…

Think it over!!!!

Now its double century!!!

So this is my double century of blogs, it has not been very long though, of me being involved with this phenomena called, Blogging.
As it is seen, its just a bit more than 7 months, and the blogs that I have written or published has been on an average of 1 per day. Guess, its fair rate….

Now it has become my favourite hobby, after reading ie, and it’s a hobby, which I can show also to others…..

But it all started not as a hobby, but rather something, which helps me jotting down at a single place, all that has happened in my life, and all that’s happening…..

Sometime back I wrote one more reason of mine for getting this blog written and published, and it also holds true.

So what after 200, may be next milestone is 500, but guess, every century will be celebrated, like today, I will celebrate the double century!!

The truth behind the winning of a reality show!!!

There are some obvious advantages of being in an industry in which you are closely associated with an integral part of daily life of every individual.

And the industry is telecom. If you are in a big metro like Bombay, and have old friends of the industry, you get to know certain information which sometimes surprises you and sometimes its shocking!!!

Nowadays, the so called game shows, and the reality shows have made the people hooked to them during the so called “prime hours”, gluing to their tv sets, just waiting for their contestants to win….

But whats the truth behind the win??? Do they really win ethically???

NO!!!!

A couple of days back, I just went to meet one of the prominent telecom retailer in Andheri –West, who is also a very good friend of mine also, on a personal level.

He is an old fox of market and you get a lot of info about the industry from that guy, and usually whenever we meet, I spent at least an hour at his outlet over a couple of cups of tea. So we were just discussin…

And, I am THE GOD ! ! !

In the movie "Men of honour", Robert de Niro is addressing the new batch of recruits at the centre, after he gives his introduction, he shouts "And I am the God!!!".

While he shouts this, all the rookies shiver at the mere thought of what this God can do to them, here in this wilderness!

As I was watching this movie, I remember my own days as the instructor, when I was setting up the distribution set up in one of my previous companies. Every morning and evening, I used to virtually let every one know that "I am the God".

All those new rookies would shiver every morning when I would call them to reporting, and then in the evening they would fear to report their sales figure to me, fearing the wrath of "God".

The only difference between this "God" and Rober de Niro, was that while in my case the rookies would be sitting and shivering, in the later case they were standing and shivering!.

One of guy I still remember could not handle the very fir…

Akbar, You have made me proud !!!

I am very happy and proud of myself today. The reason, one of my protege, Akbar has got a better job and stepped one stone further on the ladder of success in life.

I am very happy because he is my protege and I coached him, threatened him, abused him, hugged him, congratulated him and above all always kept him close to my heart, when he was one of "My men".

Today when he starts working for a big company in an enhanced profile at a better package, after him and his family, I must be the happiest person on planet earth, coz if he succeeded, I have also succeeded, and also my leadership style.

Any leader would be happy if one of his men succeeds in life and so am I. But there is a difference when you have a well groomed man to lead than a rookie, and I am happy as finally one of my rookie has earned the stripes.

Akbar was one of the men who worked in my team in my previous assignment, in the distributor's sales team.
I dont remember as whether I took his interview, but I remembe…

Whats the big deal about an Indo-Pak cricket match????

Well most of the times I wonder about whats the big deal about an India-Pak cricket encounter...

People say that its all about the decades of enemity, matter of winning and losing, passion, thrill, persistence, the will to win, pride, shame, ecstasy, sorrow, fight for survival, the will to win, revenge,do or die, performance at its best, the war-cry,leadership,and so forth.

But isnt it the life of all of us about? Every single day of our lives? All of us who manage to survive this monster called life, dont do or feel all the above adjectives in our lives daily?

And if its not happening to us at this moment, its happening with somebody close to us, but its happening somewhere near to us, then why this fuss???

Its like any other game...

Lets take anybody's life and I guess the way we fight with Life is much bigger than what goes in 8 hours between two teams.
And most important of all, on the grass pitch there are two team of 11 people fighting. How often do we have to fight Life as a team? More often t…

Check your partner and your medical records before kissing!!!

KISS MAY HAVE BEEN FATAL FOR TEEN WITH NUT ALLERGY(Canada)

A 15-year-old girl in Quebec's Saguenay region is believed to have died as a result of an allergic reaction to her boyfriend's kiss. An autopsy will be performed on the body of the teen, who was allergic to peanuts. Officials said she did not consume the nuts, but they believe she had a reaction to kissing her boyfriend, who had eaten peanut butter. Although an adrenaline shot was administered almost immediately, the teen did not recover, the Montreal newspaper La Presse reported. The girl was rushed to hospital, where she died after suffering respiratory failure

Any wonder, why am not getting married???

God today is friday the 13th!!!!

Fear of Friday the 13th is rooted in ancient, separate bad-luck associations with the number 13 and the day Friday. The two unlucky entities combine to make one super unlucky day.

There is a Norse myth about 12 gods having a dinner party at Valhalla, their heaven. In walked the uninvited 13th guest, the mischievous Loki. Once there, Loki arranged for Hoder, the blind god of darkness, to shoot Balder the Beautiful, the god of joy and gladness, with a mistletoe-tipped arrow. Balder died and the Earth got dark. The whole Earth mourned.

There is a Biblical reference to the unlucky number 13. Judas, the apostle who betrayed Jesus, was the 13th guest to the Last Supper.

A particularly bad Friday the 13th occurred in the middle ages. On a Friday the 13th in 1306, King Philip of France arrested the revered Knights Templar and began torturing them, marking the occasion as a day of evil.

In ancient Rome, witches reportedly gathered in groups of 12. The 13th was believed to be the devil.

Both Friday …

What you are is determined by the day you were born!!!

Monday's child is fair of face;

Tuesday's child is full of grace;

Wednesday's child is full of woe;

Thursday's child has far to go;

Friday's child is loving and giving;

Saturday's child works hard for a living.

Now whether thats true or false, please let me know by posting your comments, by the way, I was born on Sunday!!!!

How to decide whom to marry and how many children you will have???

Think of five or six names of boys or girls you might marry, As you twist the stem of an apple, recite the names until the stem comes off. You will marry the person whose name you were saying when the stem fell off.

Simple isnt it??? But what happens when different names come with different apples???
Again simple, marry all of them one by one during the duration of your life!!!!

One more,
If you cut an apple in half and count how many seeds are inside, you will also know how many children you will have. Now again this is different with different apples, so solution???
Simple, the law of average!!!!(Once an engineer, always an engineer).

The fear of being grounded ! ! !

I have not flown much and neither am very fond of it, guess nobody is, and its more of a necessity. The flights are always boring, unless you have a blonde next to you and that too if she is not engaged and ready to hitch the conversation with you. So far, its not my luck!

So then lets discuss the most positive aspects of the flights, the smiling and charming faces of the air-hostess.Well, in that manner I have been lucky at least and all of us when we fly, we want to see some preety faces, isnt it?

After all then whats the difference between travelling on ground, and risking your limbs, hanging in thin air, 30000ft above the ground? Even if the plane crashes, you will at least die with the memory of a beautiful blonde, lingering in your memory???

So now when the national, international carrier Air India has told all its so called "over-weight" air- hostesses to slim or ship out, theres no reason why they should cry foul??

After all, even if these "over weight" air-hos…

One man died another learns from it ! ! !

Since the moment I read that article, I am just thinking that I am plain lucky coz somebody suffered before me and am alert now!!!

In todays, Mumbai Mirror there is a news article about a woman who stabbed her partner repeatedly just because he was repeatedly playing one particular Elvis song, yes, thats true.

Well, for records, that unfortunate man and myself suffer from the same disease, playing the song which we like over and over again, till the record itself begs, dont play me anymore....

Right since childhood, on audio tapes and now on cd, I just repeat and repeat my favourite song. Thanks to technology, it was very cumbersome when I was a child, you had to be meticulous in order to repeat your songs on the magnetic tapes, but now you just need to press a single button and it keeps on playing.

I still remember my mother more than pissed off with me because of this habit and sometimes even my neighbours complaining of listening to the same song over and over again(I listen my song lo…

Back from hibernation.......

Well, I have been hibernating for past couple of weeks. I guess this is the biggest break I have taken from my hobby.

Reasons?? Not too many. Had the month-end, and then the new-year break. First time in last 3 years actually enjoyed the new year bash organised at the hotel, otherwise all the previous ones have been very filthy. I decided not to go to a hotel this year, but later on changed my mind and this time I dont regret it.
It was awesome.

Well, actually this hibernation has to be blamed on Mr.Newton. His law of inertia held valid in this case of mine also.

Now being back to action, I would be writing again in the normal way.....

Last but not the least, wishing all those guys and gals who are crazy enough to read my blog, A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR AND GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!!!!

"Let the learning be a joy and teaching a pleasure"

A few days back, I saw this caption behind a school bus, I forgot the name of the school but this caption, mesmerized my imagination.
How true it is? And yes, how rare it is??

I guess, for all of us the learning have been at least half the joy, minus the mathematics, the exams and assignments and the homeworks, sometimes too strict teachers or professors, who believe smiling is a sin!

Lets focus on the aspect of teaching, how many times we have encountered the teachers, professors and the educational authorities and policy makers who percieve "teaching" to be a pleasure?

The lives of many of the children would be so much soothing if all the educational people start thinking in this manner, rather that teaching is a business or just a profession, to make money.

If all of them start teaching with heart and take pleasure in making all of us learn, it would be such a satisfying experience for both the learner and the teacher!

In todays circumstances of extreme commercialisation, this gen…

Territory Infringement ! ! !

Any sales guy you ask, one of the biggest threat he faces is that of the "Territory Infringement".You have material coming into your territory from the foriegn one, diminshing your territory's sale.
The only guy who is immune to this effect is the NSM or the VP-Sales, for the matter because, he is the "King of the world".

In my entire career so far, this is the daily isssue with which I grapple with and I know that it will last till the moment I also become the "King".

For that matter not only sales guy face this problem. A few days back as I was returning to home from work, I was at the subarban railway station, waiting for the train. There was a commotion going nearby and I hitched my ears to that conversation trying to figure out whats happening.

On a closer inspection, the thing was that two beggars were fighting for the same place. It was that one of the beggars infringed on the other beggar's territory(apparently more potential one) and so the …
